April 2015

April 5: The Jardines came up from San Antonio for Easter/Conference weekend.  It's so fun to have little ones around for Easter!

Sadly, the next morning we woke up to this:

My seminary students informed me of the tragedy.  Someone ran into it with their car.  I can only hope the mailbox did some damage to their car in return!  Grrrr.

The end of track season:
Mosey and Brigham both ran middle school track this season.

I somehow managed not to get a single picture of Mosey running.  Sorry baby!

The boys also started middle school soccer!  All three of them are playing and love it.  It's super low-key, a co-ed team with only a couple practices a week plus a game.  The fields are not accessible, so I haven't really been able to actually see them play much, but they are having a good time and like the other kids on the team.

April 19: Ben rode in the MS 150.  His company, Texas Mutual, sponsors a team, and Ben trained for months, getting a new (very nice) bike, and discovering his favorite sport.  He lost weight, got strong, and looked great going into the race.  Unfortunately, on the first day, there were bad rainstorms, so the MS 150 canceled the first day, and instead had everyone start at the halfway mark on Sunday.  But Ben, being Ben, was not content to do the MS 75, so he and a couple of others from his team kept riding from the Capitol (where the race "ends"), and rode another 75 miles around Austin, to make the full 150 miles.

April is also recital month!
Brigham and Joseph both did not play in the piano recital this year because they had a scout camp scheduled.  Unfortunately, it got rained out, but their teacher still wouldn't let them play in the recital.  They were heartbroken.  :-) (Not really.)  But Mosey played!
Brigham's violin recital was the next day. He played a fun duet with a violist that his teacher also teaches.

Other random pictures from April:
Springtime is so beautiful in Austin.  Central Texas is a great place for wildflowers!

Mosey and his Howard.

Luna's favorite place to nap.  The violin case fits her purrfectly.  :-)

Family picture up on the forest road.
