Rachel and her family came up for the 4th. The boys and Ben put up flags in Steiner Ranch for the boy scouts' fund raiser, and then we had a bit of a debate about what to do for the rest of the day. We ended up deciding to go up to the cabin to go kayaking. The trip up ended up being a bit of a fiasco, sadly. Right about at Liberty Hills, Ben's car broke down. He had his truck, I had my van, and Rachel and Jonathan had their van, because we all needed to be leaving at different times. This was just a few days after the Durango broke down! We called AAA, and I stayed to make sure the truck got loaded up and on the way back to our house, and then headed up to the cabin. Ben went with Rachel and Jonathan so he could unlock the gate.
But once we were there, a good time was had by all. We went kayaking up to the waterfall, Rachel's family explored around by the cabin, and after a few hours, Rachel and her crew headed back down to San Antonio so her kids wouldn't be up at an ungodly hour on a Saturday night.
The only pictures I managed to take were of Rachel's kiddos up on the forest road.
