Greek and Latin Roots

As part of our homeschooling routine, we review Greek and Latin roots each day.  The boys have taken a shining to doing charades for our roots review.  Here’s a sampling of the pantomiming that goes on every morning before lunch.

Arbor/Arboris (tree)
Centum (one hundred)

Caput/Capitis (head)

 Dens/Dentis (teeth)

Mosey's Dens/Dentis interpretation-- showing where his tooth *was,* in any case.
Digitus (Finger, Toe, Inch)

 Dormio/Dormitum (Sleep)
 Duo (two)

 Lithos (stone)
Luna (moon, although they like to give me the "loony" sign)

 Necro (dead)

 Pes/Pedis (foot)

 Phobos (fear)

 Syn (with, together)

 Tres (three)
On a different note, Joseph had a rough day yesterday.  He didn’t get his school work done until 10:45.  And that would be in the P.M.  But we had a good talk afterward, and I am hoping today will be a better day…
