Here's one I played with tonight. It takes some skill (I can see one or two glaring mistakes which I couldn't quite figure out how to fix), and I'm sure this is really amateur, but it was fun! This could get addicting. :-)

fun with photoshop
I have been experimenting on Photoshop a little, trying to find a good method of turning a photo into a pencil-sketch, without having to actually do a pencil sketch!
Here's one I played with tonight. It takes some skill (I can see one or two glaring mistakes which I couldn't quite figure out how to fix), and I'm sure this is really amateur, but it was fun! This could get addicting. :-)

Hey we just printed and framed that picture this weekend! The pencil sketch looks cool too. Is it more work than the typical editing process?

Yes, it is a lot more work! It's really a combination of drawing and photoshop stuff. It definitely takes less time than a real drawing would, though.
So beautiful!!!! Gabrielle, no fair that you got all the artistic genes in the family -- come to think of it, WHERE did you get those genes??
Keep up the good work, I think you're on to something! I like it!
That really is beautiful, Gabrielle. Be careful about developing skills that your siblings and friends will then promptly exploit :).
